Rotating Schedule Announced

I had a headache before I tried to make sense of this, now it is worse.

The criteria used to develop the schedule includes the following:

1. Each ACC school will play eight conference games annually, four at home and four on the road.

2. Each ACC school will play three home divisional games and three on the road.

3. Each ACC school will play one home cross divisional game and one road cross divisional game. When schools will play their permanent crossover opponent at home, they will play their rotating crossover opponent on the road and vice versa.

4. Within each division, all teams will either play all of their primary crossover games at home or away in a given year with all of the rotating crossover opponents all played at home or away.

5. Each ACC school will play all of their rotating crossover opponents twice during the 12-year rotation, once at home and once on the road, but not consecutively.

Thanks for posting the information. Wake Forest is our permanent crossover opponent. What I like is no Clemson or FSU for the next four years (except in the ACC Championship Game), we next play FSU in 2017 and Clemson in 2018. Those two programs are positioned to be the power teams for the next few seasons so it is nice to have them off the schedule.

Rotating crossovers upcoming: 2013: NC State; 2014: Syracuse; 2015: Boston College; 2016: Louisville.

This thread is as good as any to post this I guess. I usually like Heather Dinich, but here she takes the stereotypical bullshit media approach to Duke football. She projected the "power rankings" of the ACC for the next three years, and of course, Duke is last.

The main stream media isn't ready to buy into Duke football. We have a great head coach, money is being spent upgrading facilities, and the team has made obvious improvements. The only question remaining is whether or not recruiting can gain momentum. I firmly believe it can but I understand how folks who do not view the situation through Duke Blue goggles may remain dubious.

Virginia is in a worse situation than us right now because Mike London is questionable as a coach. Perhaps Coach O'Brien can shore up the situation but perhaps not. Pittsburgh is also shaky. It might be more than three years down the road, but Frank Beamer is going to leave VT at some point and that program will take a hit. The jury is out on what effect pending NCAA investigation will do to Miami and the stench in Chapel Hill continues to grow.

Time will tell, but I do not expect Duke to be in the ACC basement over the next three years.
