I don't object to the bacon. I object to the corn syrup surprise accompanied with the bacon.

Re: Burger King's New Bacon Sundae
Maybe we can make our own bacon sundaes at Brunchgate this summer with homemade (hand-cranked or electric) ice cream and crisp, hickory-smoked bacon off one of our grills.

You can be totally in charge. Your practice should increase.devildeac wrote:Maybe we can make our own bacon sundaes at Brunchgate this summer with homemade (hand-cranked or electric) ice cream and crisp, hickory-smoked bacon off one of our grills.

I love sundaes and I love bacon but there are certain things that just do not belong together no matter how much you might love them individually.

Yup...you will never see a commercial that starts off "Hey! You got your bacon in my ice cream!"colchar wrote:I love sundaes and I love bacon but there are certain things that just do not belong together no matter how much you might love them individually.

I don't know fellas, there are tons of great bacon combinations out there that seem unconventional, but end up being delicious! Fruit and salt proteins go great together. Prosciutto-wrapped melon, apple, + grapes/raisins in chicken salad (though admittedly Waldorf is least favorite chicken salad), chocolate covered bacon, and grilled peaches with bacon (as mentioned on DBR) are all quite lovely.CameronBornAndBred wrote:Yup...you will never see a commercial that starts off "Hey! Consider bacon's main flavor contribution to food: salt. Salt and sugar go hand in hand. Without salt, sugar is just plain old boring. You ever dip a french fry in your Frosty? YUM!
I think the flavor combinations could be perfect if you had the right ingredients. The problem with Burger King is that they just don't have the right ingredients.

Umm... I saw this on MSNBC this morning. 550 cals, LOADS of saturated fat. But really, this is competition for Jack-in-the-Box's Bacon milkshake. And DENNY'S has something similar.
I think the r&d departments have been watching a little too much Iron Chef.
Then again, maybe they stopped by the local donut shop in Richmond, KY (bacon-maple-frosted cream-filled long johns). How long before they'll deep-fry that at the NC State Fair?
