Thanks for the update. That seems fair and I'm pleasantly suprised...I was sure they were going to skirt the bowl ban.

To add to that, I think it was a way of the NCAA giving an FU to the holes for not co-operating for shit. They never once played the "we're sorry" card..and they got what they deserved in return. It will be interesting to see how Miami is handled. IMHO Miami stepped up to the plate quickly to accept responsiblity for being the cheaters they were, we never saw anything but claims of innonence from the holes.

No doubt Western Carolina will get a ten year bowl suspension out of this, or Andre Dawkins will be T'ed up.
The punishment is greater than I expected, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. They had two bowl games in those years, so it seems that maybe a two year postseason suspension would be in order, but at least they got one. I imagine they will find interesting ways to get around the scholarship ban, like giving their football players academic scholarships.
IIRC, one of their basketball players was once designated a Morehead academic scholar when they didn't have any more basketball scholarships to use. He may have been brilliant, but it looked bad.
(one for every scholarship they are losing over three years.)
