Duke/Carolina - It Went a Little Like This...

Rivers, Zeller Lead Duke to Stunning Victory

Wednesday, February 8, 2012 - EarlJam's Recliner - So I cut my tennis match short at 8:30 tied one set a piece, saying, "sorry fellas, duty calls," and made my way home to watch Duke take on the evil empire from Chapel Hill. Duke won 85-84. Here is a brief recap:

Wow's Duke's coming out hot! But we can't keep relying on only the "three" the whole game can we?
Man, we're winning this entire half!
We're getting cold.
Geez, Zeller is a monster.
Dang, that should've been a shot clock violation!
I can't believe we're going into the half down after leading the whole thing.
Coming out cold, this could get ugly.
Stop jacking the threes!
Yes Mason, more of THAT!
We're screwed.
Clang, clang, clang at the free throw line (again).
Now we're really screwed.

Final two minutes
Yes! (Thorton three)
Yes! (RK shots)
Yes! (Curry three)
Double Yes! (Zeller's basket for Duke)
Ohhhhh! (Zeller's free throw miss
No! Get up the court dude! Time's running out!
5..., 4....3....2....1....

SWISH!

Buzzer!

HOLY MOTHER OF ALL THAT IS HOLY! YES! YES! YES! WORLD PEACE! WORLD PEACE! WAR IS OVER! WAR IS OVER!

AUSTIN RIVERS IS THE MAN!

Wow, that's a great shot! (by the photographer AND obviously by Austin)

He's the real deal. Man can gun all he wants to. It's his team now. That was no fluke.

Observe the hand placement on the ball. Perfect!
It can't be seen here, but I'd bet that the tip of his middle finger is centered on a seam.
