Sorry, but the addition of Andruw will NOT make me root for the Yankees.

The addition of Carnegie Deli pastrami in the concession stands would be more tempting, but I STILL wouldn't root for the Yankees.

Andruw wearing pinstripes? Are they serious?

But I will and that's all that really matters ;) It's a good signing for them. A definite upgrade from Marcus Themes. Now, when the Yanks sign Josh Hamilton next year, that'll be a real upgrade in center field!

Andruw Jones hasn't put together a really solid season at the plate in five years now. He is also chubby, (still) lazy, and a shell of his former self with the glove. A decent piece and good for 15-20 homers, sure, but a panacea, he ain't.
