Vibes and prayers needed

I just found out this evening, my best friend, Linda, has a brain tumor. I meet her in 2004. She was my next door neighbor in Kenansville. She means so much to me for so many reasons. She is not only a wonderful friend but also a wonderful mother, grandmother and community person. Linda is one of those people you feel blessed to know and value as a friend. I'm so crushed at this moment I'm having a hard time expressing how I feel. The tumor is in a very hard place to remove. A biopsy will be done Thursday to determine what type tumor it is. One bright spot is the doctor taking care of her is Dr. Alan Friedman. He did Ted Kennedy's surgery. If anyone can help, he can.

If Linda is that important to you, she's that important to US!!! She'll be so fortunate going forward that she has you near her. Please let me know if I can make hospital visits to Duke with or for you. I'm used to it and know the ropes. If you'd like company there some day, just holler. I had a good visit with Linda yesterday evening. Her spirits are good. She was to have an MRI last nigh and biopsy today. If she gets it early enough today, she will go home and wait for the results.

Dr. Fredman told the family, the tumor is very slow growing and has probably been there for a while and they will monitor. From what I understand, this is good news. I talked with DukePA, she assures me this is good news. I didn't want to ask too many questions that might alarm the family. I'm still praying and sending vibes.

So glad to hear the positive news on your good buddy, hon. Any news on how operable the location is? I'd still feel better if they got that sucker outta there ASAP, wouldn't you? Still encouraging that they feel they can take their time and further assess the situation.
