Hey, I have iTunes and I like to put my CDs onto iTunes and then onto my iPod. I just bought the new Jars of Clay album, and I can play it fine on my CD player, but when I put it in my CD-ROM drive on my computer, it doesn't recognize it. Like, it spins for a minute and then stops, but then if I click on the drive, it tells me to insert a disk, and iTunes doesn't recognize it either. This doesn't happen often, maybe 1 out of every 20 or so CDs I try, but it drives me nuts. Is there a reason for this or a way to fix this?
Thanks.

Quick thought is that your cd drive is defective. Maybe it just needs cleaning. If other devices read it, and your computer can't, it's the drive itself.

Then why does it read 19/20 CDs and DVDs just fine? I'm not saying you're wrong. I'll try cleaning it, I just don't understand why it would be fine 95% of the time if it were dirty.CameronBornAndBred wrote:Quick thought is that your cd drive is defective.
