I have honestly never had any of the deep fried stuff at the NCSF. The general consensus of folks I have talked with is that they like 1-2 bites of those items but can't finish them 'cuz they are too rich. I have heard of deep fried butter. I want those consumers as my patients. I think. :roll:DukeUsul wrote:Deep fried Coke was pretty gross.
Deep fried Oreos are great, but after just one I'm done.
I can only eat about half a deep fried Snickers. Too rich.
Deep fried Twinkies are "classic."
I'm really disturbed by the thought of deep fried butter.

Re: The Deep Fried Thread
All of these items are meant to be shared. Reason #878 why you should never go to the fair without a pretty girl/handsome boy at your side. The fall air is perfect for doing things like snuggling on the ferris wheel (or at the Demolition Derby if you're lucky ;) ) too.devildeac wrote:I have honestly never had any of the deep fried stuff at the NCSF. According to today's Raleigh n&o, the following deep-fried items are indeed available at the NCSF:
1. candy bars-multiple choices
2. twinkies
3. Ho-Hos
4. pecan pie
5. mac and cheese
6. banana sundae
7. country-fried bacon
8. cheeseburgers
and, my personal favorite and recommendation (originating from the Texas State Fair),
9. BUTTER!

Since we don't have tix to the b'ball game following the football game on 10/24, and I are heading over to the State Fair following the football game. We will definitely be trying the fried food. Which selection should we sample first?

Re: The Deep Fried Thread
I would favor wandering around outside CIS an hour or so before tip-off and buying tix on site for the MBB game instead of heading to the NCSF. Healthier/safer alternative to your arteries than what you have planned. :roll:CathyCA wrote:devildeac wrote:According to today's Raleigh n&o, the following deep-fried items are indeed available at the NCSF:

If your death wishes continue, I'd have a deep-fried cheeseburger or the deep-fried county-fried bacon as your entree, the deep-fried mac and cheese as your side item, with some deep-fried butter, of course, as your condiment. I'd follow that with a shared deep-fried cookie or candy bar for your dessert. Less calories that way. I should be back in Raleigh by that time and not under the influence any longer. You have my cell #. In may be a bit premature, but you just might need my services that evening if you follow the above outlined diet plan.

Must be getting to be that time of year when thoughts drift to the state and local fairs...and the concoctions of deep-fried stuff that they sell.
