The youth is evident. Improvement should be, as well.

This is a most important point, one I'm sure Coach Cutcliffe has on his mind during every practice, every game and every recruiting contact.captmojo wrote:...most important stat reveal of the day...and from other days previous. These Devils have a potent passing attack, even with Thad's missed TD toss, but until it's balanced by the ability to run the ball, they are going to be far too predictable on offense.devildeac wrote:... but we sure do need an OL, both for them and for some semblance of a running game.
Another statistic that should be mentioned is that prior to Saturday's game, Kansas had lost only three games at home in the past two years. Overcoming that sort of momentum is a steep order for a team still developing and subject to being overcome suddenly by fragility. If I remember correctly, Duke scored more against the Kansas defense than anyone else has for this young this season. Recruiting better and better players over the next yew years is the most essential element in playing at the level which correlates with success at the national level.
The program is improving, but we're in the very slippery, uphill part of that climb out of the pit dug so deeply by the Ivy aspirants over recent decades.
