That's the place near The Meadowlands. I/we ate there last year. Good, but not great. Here's a picture I took last December of part of my "crew" eating there.Sue71 wrote:Nope. I'll go here though. Nope. Picture comes up as "invalid". CB&B - this keeps happening to pictures I took. It is a 2 meg jpg. Why am I having a problem uploading pictures?

Oz - try and crop it down a little smaller and save to a new file name. There is a size upload limit.OZZIE4DUKE wrote:That's the place near The Meadowlands. I/we ate there last year. They are good. Damned good. And large. Extremely large. Ginormous. We typically get 4 sammiches out of one of their monstrosities.wilson wrote:Those sandwiches had damn well better be good for twenty bucks.cl15876 wrote:OOO MY, I am getting hungry NOW!!!!! Other than Sami's, is there a good place to get corned beef and pastrami around here?devildeac wrote:They are good. Damned good. And large. Extremely large. Ginormous. We typically get 4 sammiches out of one of their monstrosities.

Re: Ymm, Jewish Soul Food
I'll defer to Ozzie about CB/pastrami and Sami's. I'd bet the answer is that Sami's doesn't serve CB/pastrami. Several years ago, I did have a CB sammich at Jason's Deli. It was large and the CB was relatively good but not even close to NYC stuff. I'll have to try it again some time soon. I'd bet it would be about a 4-5F on the 9F rating scale.TillyGalore wrote:Other than Sami's, is there a good place to get corned beef and pastrami around here?devildeac wrote:They are good. Maybe I'm confusing Sami's with some other delicacy. Philly Cheesesteak perhaps.devildeac wrote:I'll defer to Ozzie about CB/pastrami and Sami's. And meet the latest entry into the deli thread:

STILL no decent bagels in town, but perhaps devildeac has a place to try out when next he visits Lexington.
And to perform the ultimate no-no on a thread devoted to Jewish Soul Food, check out the first item in this article:

Never saw your response (perhaps I just missed it): What's your verdict on the Jewish soul food at Goldberg's in Atlanta?Lavabe wrote:And meet the latest entry into the deli thread:

Re: Ymm, Jewish Soul Food
The one on Roswell Rd. seems to be the one of choice, at least according to SteveBunchofnumbers over yonder. South African Jewish founders supposedly have great meats, according to StevBON.wilson wrote:Never saw your response (perhaps I just missed it): What's your verdict on the Jewish soul food at Goldberg's in Atlanta?Lavabe wrote:And meet the latest entry into the deli thread:

My experience has been slightly lower, as I have never had the South African sausage that Steven raves about. And frankly, I believe the original South African owner was bought out by someone else. Nonetheless, that Goldberg's has delicious bagels, and decent other fare. There are at least TWO other Goldberg's. The one by the OK Cafe is good yuppie-Jewish cuisine, with decent lox and other fare, with very nice bagels. The other Goldberg's is in East Cobb, right near one of the newer branches of the Flying Biscuit. It too is decent, but too pricey for me. For East Cobb, I'd rather go to Bagelicious, which has A- bagels, and better all around Jewish Soul Food (especially the matzah brei, sandwiches, and kugel).
I guess what I am saying is that Goldberg's, to me, doesn't rank as high as Bagel Palace, but some people swear by it.
There... if that doesn't bring StevenBON to CrazieTalk.Net, I don't know what will.

Your penalty for that comment is to pick David Gilliland in your B list for the rest of the NASCAR season.TillyGalore wrote:I have a huge bagel confession to make. I really do prefer Dunkin' Donuts bagels to Brueggers.
