It's been coming down very solid for the last 30 minutes here in Durham.

I hope it isn't snowing in SC and GA so you can get the shared snowplow first. ;)

The snow had quit here for a few min. but is coming down now. I just got back to the house. Had to take Adam (our grandson) up the road. He ran out of gas, to put gas in the truck. The snow is starting to stick on our road. Its 32 degrees.

I think we have had about 1" of snow in about 3 hours and prolly 100's of accidents...

I've seen enough snow already for the year.

we've got about 3 inches here close to downtown Raleigh. The sleet was coming down hard until about 15 minutes ago. Now it's a mix of sleet and snow.

Correction to my post above, we have about 5 inches of snow. K68 is shoveling as we are now getting freezing rain. If we don't shovel now, the walkway and end of the driveway are going to be rock hard. So glad we didn't have plans this weekend.

Hope everyone is safe and warm.

Oh no - I just had a (bad) thought. Since our b'ball game is on CBS, Greg Fishel will probably be interrupting the game every 5 minutes for a weather update - or WORSE, decide that weather coverage is more important than the game. EEK!!

This snow is the deepest I've seen here in the WS area since I moved back about 5 years ago..... at least 8" with heavy snowfall forecast for the time period from 9A to about noon. I don't think it's going to get to the depth of the March 1960 snow events though.

I prepared my sidewalk with a dusting of ice melt when the snow began to fall about 5P yesterday so that it should be easier to remove a bit later today.

My wonderful newspaper deliveryman made his rounds this morning. My little 10 pound sweet little dog would not go more than a couple of feet from the front door..... she does not like cold snow on the belly!

It's a relief that the sleet portion has been light. The temperature has fallen two degrees in just over an hour.... now 22 degrees.
