When I was a kid, behavior from the likes of DukeUsul and knights68 creeped me out. Some things never change. ;)

Hmm. It's just a bug.Miles wrote:When I was a kid, behavior from the likes of DukeUsul and knights68 creeped me out. Some things never change. ;)
But the one time I shot a squirrel with a bb-gun had me blubbering like a little baby. I was 11 or 12 or so. They were harassing our birdhouses and birdfeeders, so my dad handed me the BB gun. I hit one in the head. But not enough to kill it. Just enough for it to .... um .... look gross .... and stagger off into the creek behind my house to die a slow death. I couldn't find it to finish it off. I was blubbering like a little baby. I don't think I've killed more than an insect or arachnid since.
Oh not true. We had some mice in our garage at our old house. I told Lis that I'd set up some traps. But she wanted me to set up humane traps, so I could catch and release in the woods. Ok fine. I set up the ones that have a door on the end and when they go in, the thing tilts and the door closes. Ok great. Nothing happened for the first week. Then we went out of town for two weeks. When we came back and opened the garage I knew immediately from the smell. I found the traps and they were .... leaking.
So much for humane traps.

I have plucked a few of those in my time, I was trained to shoot by the marines, 1 shot, 1 kill! I guess I won't ask you to go deer or turkey hunting! I caught some fresh fish on the surf a very long time ago and my X who was starving wanted me to throw them back because she couldn't stand the fact that I had to kill them to clean them "You've got to be kidding me anywho, she went for a walk and we had wonderful fresh fish that evening on the grill! My lil man years later got upset because he caught a beautiful red fish (about 14 inches) and when it swallowed the hook, well, we needed it back... he was very sensitive about that poor fish, but it sure was good! ;)DukeUsul wrote:Hmm.
