Not sure how rural it is where you live, but you can always shoot them if firing a shotgun where you live won't lead to the police at your front door.

They've become a problem in the city here. People's dogs have been attacked at parks in very urban areas.

We have 25 acres, our house is in the middle. We have around 15 houses in our area, most have at least 10 acres. Its still sorta country. We can shoot the coyotes. The trick would be to try & figure where they might be.

Ozzie's suggestion may be easier. Do a big bash for all the crazietalk bunch, turn them loose and "Let there be PEE"!!

Bud talked to a game warden friend of ours about how the coyotes got here. Our friend said the state did not bring them in. He said people who hunt fox (with horses) decided coyotes would be more fun to hunt. They fenced large parcels of land and brought them in. Of course, you know the results, there is no real way to contro them.

You said they are a problem in the city. Thats scarey.

For now, the coyotes seemed to have moved on. We are seeing a lot of deer again. I know they didn't drown, like I wished. I hope they have moved on very far from here.

I say invite me down, and buy another freezer and Bud and I will be doing some skinning and hacking!!!!! maybe some grinding and cubing (CB&B caught my attention), I'm getting hungry for some fresh venison! Yumm!!!! ;)

I didn't know you hunt. i like venison ground up with a little pork fat. Deerberger. Very good.

oh, yay!!!!! I have been known to walk up on deer within 3-6' and we both scared the b'jeebers out of each other! My last outing was 1995, but have slayed several deer going back to the late 70's, my dad took me out when I was 5 and kicked my ass up and down the mountains to make me immune to an ass whipping amongst many other thangs! That is in hind sight of course because I sure wasn't immune to it back then!!!! I used to be able to hold a quarter size grouping of aluminum arrows at 60 yards and a rifle (well, without bragging, I am pretty damn good) and my black powder w/o scope (wasn't legal then) is dead on at 100yards +/- 4".

All started for me in Harrisburg, VA (Rockingham County) and then migrated to Clifton Forge, VA (just shy of Roanoke!) Botetourt County!!! How's that for South Western.. ? Beautiful country, I miss it!

I do hope it stays that way. The packs seem to move around. Its hard telling where they might go. According to the article CBAB posted, they have invaded Charlotte.

Thanks! The coyotes are in south Charlotte, I don't wander over to those parts too often so I'm not afraid and there's plenty of suburbia between Kelly and the southside. Yaaaaaay suburbia.
