Ymm, Chocolate Milk!

Post by wilson » March 14th, 2011, 10:43 pm

What a tasty, delicious treat. I like it best made with Hershey's syrup. I find that in this fashion, it's easiest to get a rich chocolaty flavor, without the texture issues imparted by some of your widely available powders. I am about to go and prepare some right now.
I also do not particularly care for most varieties of pre-made chocolate milk; rather, I prefer to custom-blend it.

When I was a kid, I would dream about swimming in giant vats of chocolate milk. I love, love, love the stuff. Pre-made, made with Hershey's syrup, made with Nesquik, I love them all.

Not a big fan of the lowcarb chocolate milk, but it's better than no chocolate milk at all.

I liked it with Nestle's Quik.

But I don't drink it much--too fattening.

Ovaltine? A crummy commercial? Son of a bitch!

My kids love Ovaltine. I think the powdered Chocolate Milk tastes a little funny so when I have it I use Hershey's Syrup (which for some odd reason, my son hates)

I read this last night and went downstairs to make me a glass of chocolate milk with Hershey's syrup which my husband gets in Costco bulk size. That hit the spot!

I really like hot chocolate where a bar of dark chocolate is melted into heavy cream and whole milk, but for cold chocolate milk, Hershey's is fine by me.

Nice perk at work is unlimited beverages, including tea, coffee, soda, juices, and, yes, milk. Three types -- 2%, skim, and chocolate! I've been going through about 6-8 cartons a day. My current favorite concoction is to mix one skim with one chocolate.

I used to love NesQuik, but can't remember the last time I had it -- we're a Hershey's syrup house these days.
