I went straight to your link, Wilson. It's a cute one. But, even Grammar Girl committed a common sin on her page, and one that is a pet peeve of mine. In the credits for the recording of the ditty, they list the person responsible for its "lyrics". A song only has ONE lyric. March forth, however!!!!

Wilson, I thought about you in the gym today. USA Gymnastics (or some permutation thereof) was on one of the TV's. Did you know our gymnastic team displays "persistance"? I nearly fell off my step.

All this time I (your fellow grammar/spelling :-B ) thought that our team showed "persistence." It wasn't even ESPN, from whom I expect misspellings and grammar/syntax errors on a nightly basis.

Gymnasts need better stances then stences. If they have a good stence, they'll fall over. :D :9f:

Email I just received from Public Safety (forwarded from another jurisdiction's fire marshal):

The Fireworks training that had been scheduled for tomorrow will not be
held. This is due to not enough people sinning up to hold the class.

Not enough people sinning? Isn't tomorrow Mardi Gras? Or is the problem that they are not sinning up, but sinning down? Or sinning sideways?
