The Football Banquet is this evening, after the Duke Uva game. Sheraton Imperial on Page Road. I guess the Washington Duke Inn was going to be too expensive, or there wasnt a ballroom large enough to accomodate their needs. Generally, all Duke events are held at hotels, within the Duke area. (Durham Hilton, Dowtown Marriott in Durham, Millenium of Durham and Wash Duke).
Surprising, the venue is almost at RDU. Any thoughts on this, from you guys.
I will be going to the Banquet tonight.
And as always,
Go Duke!!!

Over the years, the Sheraton Imperial has hosted many Duke events. The football banquet now requires more space than the Washington Duke can accommodate.
I don't mind the location since it again opens up the event to attendees outside the program.

The football banquet was the best ever in terms of sophistication of planning and decor. Videography was well done, particularly the portion recognizing the 20 seniors.
The attendance was well over 500 which included the players, their families, employees of the football program, the athletic department, former players, alums and fans. I found myself at a table of former players, KAs and Phi Delts.... including some from the Cotton Bowl team who shared stories from their 50th. anniversary trip to the Big D for the 2011 Cotton Bowl.

The banquet was great!!! Enjoyed Clarkston Hines speech, but Coach Cut is the best. Sense of humor, and he read a poem, he wrote for the seniors. Its was awesome. Less than 600 in attendance. But a good good crowd!!! Videos were excellent.
