I'm a big JJ fan, but he did kind of brick an open three from the top of the key right at the end of regulation, then had a bad (read: telegraphed) pass stolen. Glad to see Orlando keep the game interesting, but I'm seeing this one done in 5.

I know you can't really tell a customer/client this, but wouldn't it be nice to be able to say when he calls with something urgent, "your emergency is not my emergency". Only customer service people and government employees can get away with that... ;) :?

Without revealing any confidence, it wasn't my client who canceled the meeting. It was a government employee who did so.

Um, I can say from personal experience that if my wife or I had ever said that on the phone in OUR government job, we would get reprimanded at the very least. That doesn't apply to ALL government jobs.

I say that in the office quite often, though I NEVER say it to the offending party. ;)

I love popcorn. Air popped (I have a microwave air popper- one of the best kitchen "gadgets" I ever purchased), melt some butter, throw on some salt. Mmmm mmmm good.

That does sound like a cool gadget! I am also a fan of popcorn but rarely make it because it's hard to finish a batch by myself. Need to buy more of those small single serving bags. Or find a microwave air popper.

I like the popcorn popper. I just use a pot with a drainer lid on my stove. Works great.

On a down note, it appears that the real estate market is even hitting the well to do. Dan Marino is trying to sell his 15000 square foot home in Florida. He's had to drop the price twice in the three years it's been on the market, to $13.5M. They're looking to downsize as all their children are going off to college. He's also offering it fully furnished now and is throwing in a signed football. It appears to be on its own little peninsula from the picture, and it has a 10 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, two powder rooms, a putting green, a pool, two guest houses, a 5000 bottle wine cellar, and a pond stocked with bass. Anybody wanna go in on it with me? ;) Life's tough for the wealthy, eh?

I once went to a Neil Young concert with the guy I was dating because he loved Neil Young so much. I hate Neil Young. I find his voice worse than fingernails on a chalkboard or Sharapova playing tennis. CANNOT STAND HIS VOICE!!! That asshole did three encores. I broke up with guy fairly soon after that.

Thanks to all about the advice about the reunion. It went pretty well. I knew Sean would adjust, he always does, and he LOVES visiting his grandparents, either set. I just felt bad for him at the time. He had fun. There's a train and a duckpond at the park, and we took him to both. He had a BLAST riding the train, and feeding the ducks. Doing both the party and the reunion in one day just wasn't going to happen, as the reunion started at 1100 hours and the party started at 1200 hours and the two places are a 3+ hour drive (should be about 2.5, but with DC weekend traffic, it's more like 3.5, dammit! ). But, he had a good time, as he always does when we visit them. Michael and Katie had fun too. If anybody's interested, I can put up a picture of them on the train.

The great irony was that Erica's mom (my mother-in-law, MiL) got a titanic nosebleed on the way to the reunion, and they spent the 90% of the reunion at the ER. I offered to take her in place of FiL, but he refused (I think I would have preferred the ER ;) ... she probably would too!). They didn't get to the reunion 'til around 1700 hours, after we, and most of the younger crowd, had left. Erica's mom lost a LOT of blood (they didn't see her for a couple hours, and the doctor was pissed b/c he said it was one of the worst he'd seen and she should have been treated much sooner, but that a lot of it was running down her throat so the front people didn't see). The doc said it was a pretty major vein that had popped in there. They cauterized it, but he's worried that it might spring again. She has to go see her ENT today to check on it. Hope she feels better soon.

My dad gave me a drill for Christmas. Think I'm going to use it on my head tonight to drain my sinuses.

I'm telling you, go to your ENT and have them turbinate it. Or have you tried a nettipot? Not sure if that's the spelling, but my WalMart sells them. It pours water up your nose and it comes pouring out the other nostril, along with ALL kinds of nasty gunk. It has gotten my sinuses cleared out more than once. If you need more pressure, my allergist sold me this little attachment that you put on one of those water guns that use a motor to shoot water between your teeth to clean them. You put the special attachment on it, then shoot the water up your nose at pressure. It REALLY gets all the crap out. Works REALLY well. It sounds pretty weird, and when you first do it, it's kind of like being waterboarded, but it REALLY helps, a lot more than a drill would anyway. ;)

I have a sinus wash (like a squirt bottle, more pressure than the Neti Pot) and it helps. I highly recommend it, Tilly. However, the attachment for the teeth cleaning gizmo sounds like just the ticket. Maybe I should look into it!
