My boss ordered a printer part for a client, assuming it was going to be an easy install. I'm guessing it will take me three hours to take apart and put back together, and then another hour to figure out where the left over screws are supposed to go. Sigh.

And the 3 hour labor charge plus the part cost is cheaper than buying a new printer? I think not! Unless it's one helluva big printer...

It's one helluva big printer. Even refurbished it would cost over $1000. I'm ready for a beer.

Laserjet 4250.
If anyone ever wants to replace a swing plate assembly for one, here's the instructions. Need for patience required, but it's not included with the replacement part. Neither is the beer. Good thing it's Friday.
Printer is back together, miraculously it worked the first time, no screws left over. :happy-bouncyblue:

We are awaiting the arrival of a crazy man to see the PHB and the head victim-witness coordinator. He said that he would kill himself if he didn't get his $2000 restitution by today. I hope he doesn't plan to kill himself in the office. That could be messy.
