Favorite Christmas Adult Beverage

I like a glass of chardonnay with Christmas dinner. Makes for better napping after lunch/dinner. :asleep:

My favorite Christmas beverage is a toasted almond it has equal parts kahlua, amaretto and milk over ice.

We had dinner at Mom's house. Therefore, the strongest drink I had today was my pumpkin spice coffee to which I added a splash of egg nog.

I'm getting ready to pour some red wine into this glass. It's one of my favorite Christmas gifts! My SIL commissioned a set of these glasses for me.

Except the wine isn't cool. It's hot! I made some hot mulled wine this evening. The house smells wonderful!

I am currently enjoying a Santa Vodka. Basically, cranberry vodka. All red and pretty and fartoongly to the medula oblongota. (sp). I'm sure it crockdoggles the liver though, but hey, mine already looks like it's been in a cat fight anyway.

That does sound good. And it's got milk - that makes it healthy. :D

The recipe for a TOASTED ALMOND IS
*rocks or collins glass filled with ice
*1 oz Kahlua or Coffee Liqueur
*1 oz Amaretto
*Fill with Cream (Half N Half)

Milk changes the whole taste and consistency of any Cream drink.

And Cream drinks, are NOT healthy!!! Very fattening, and loaded in calories and carbs. Kahlua and Amaretto are almost like pure sugar. Liqueurs are generally 30% and less in alcohol volume. Kahlua is 20% in alcohol volume.

And many Women, will drink these sweet drinks, because it taste like Chocolate milk, and get totally wasted and sick from all the cream and sugar content.

Roasted Toasted Almond is the same as above:
*ADD 1/2 oz of Vodka
or as much vodka, as you want, if you are at home, or private party

In the State of North Carolina, you can only have 2.5 oz of liquer or liqueur in any mixed drink.

I am a Professional and Certified Mixologist (Bartender) in the State of North Carolina. Also, certified in the AST training, thru the NC ALE.
I have bartending since college days, and even co-owned 2 large nightclubs, in their primedays. I still bartend, for major events, parties, weddings, birthdays, private events, and university events.

I recently had 3 BIG Duke events. (2 Athletics and 1 Duke Medicine).

I don't really have a favorite beverage specifically for Christmas. I enjoy vodka, chilled just about any time of the year, along with Guinness. Highland Brewing has their Cold Mountain Winter Ale available during the holidays. It's usually a delicious brew and I enjoy it a lot.

For New Year's we made Champagne Cocktails.
1/2 C water
1/2 C sugar
1/2 C ginger, peeled and sliced
1/2 C vodka
1/4 C candied ginger, chopped into 1/4" pieces
Champagne
Lemon juice, lemon slices and sugar for garnish

Make a simple syrup: Add sugar, sliced ginger and water to a pot and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir in the vodka, chill.
To prepare the cocktail:
1. Squeeze lemon juice into a shallow saucer
2. Pour sugar into a shallow saucer
3. Dip the glasses in juice then sugar
4. Place 1/2 Tbsp chopped candided ginger into bottom of glass
5. Pour 1 Tbsp of ginger simple syrup over candied ginger
6. Pour Champagne over top and garnish with a sliced of lemon
