Re: Duke vs Elon
It's been a long wait. Hate that we have to wait even longer until 9! That's past Dean's bedtime.

Have you guys been spending all this wait time, looking to make sure Butler is still missing half-court shots?

Yea. If we had paid the refs better over the years, K woulda broken the record a decade ago or more .CameronBornAndBred wrote:It's been a long wait. Hate that we have to wait even longer until 9! That's past Dean's bedtime.

Re: Duke vs Elon
Nah. I was convinced he missed it the 1st time I saw it. But I did wait for the refs to leave the court and the trophies to be handed out until I was SURE they weren't going to give Singler a foul and let Butler shoot FT for sticking his jaw/face in the way of howard's elbows.captmojo wrote:Have you guys been spending all this wait time, looking to make sure Butler is still missing half-court shots?

Not pretty..although the last 5 minutes was impressive. Kudos to Elon for some nice shooting..not all of it was bad defense, they made some impressive shots.

Re: Duke vs Elon
Cameron was not really Cameron tonight. I even saw folks yawning. Coach K looked tired. Only one K daughter in their section. (Sure wish we knew what was going on there.) It was just ditch-digging and coping with calls that disrupted any rhythm. Hand it to the guys for working through this first game following final week. Singler was a rock.
In Coach K's Christmas message post game, he wished all of us a good, family Christmas where nobody was sick and our families could enjoy the holiday together. Hope I'm not reading something into that, but my guess is that either Mickie or Debbie is ill. They're playing this very close to the chest, but it seems that Coach is dealing with a lot right now. First Kyrie and then family worries.
Let's all vibe harder.

Mike G (quoting from somewhere else, either DBR or a pvt email group to which I belong) wished Debbie a speedy recovery. Doesn't sound like it's Mickie.Ima Facultiwyfe wrote:Cameron was not really Cameron tonight. I even saw folks yawning. Coach K looked tired. Only one K daughter in their section. Re: Duke vs Elon
I cannot confirm, but have heard from one person that Debbie had a mild stroke last week. So I don't know for sure that is it, but even Mike Giminski wished Debbie well toward the end of the game. I think vibes are a good idea.

to Debbie and the rest of the K family.
Cameron sounded like the dump on the hump for a lot of the night, or like a library.

Re: Duke vs Elon
How surprising this news is, if true. Debbie is in such good shape and so young. Just proves it could happen to anybody. Here's hoping its as mild as can be and that her therapy takes hold quickly. This is a real stressor for them at holiday time in particular.

Wow, I noticed the exact same thing. At one point he looked shockingly tired, pale. I was taken aback a little. Word does seem to be coming out about an illness. Mega-vibes to the K family.Ima Facultiwyfe wrote:Cameron was not really Cameron tonight. I even saw folks yawning. Coach K looked tired. Only one K daughter in their section.
