Happened so fast that the #$%@ sped off. It was a dark gray late model Acura TL. I first thought the noise was my anti-lock brakes engaging. It was both the brakes and the asshole hitting us that I heard. I actually drove about 1/2 mile hoping I'd catch him at a light but no such luck so just called the police so they could file a report.

Oh my! I'm so very glad it didn't end up worse and that you are both ok!
The problem this time of year is that there are just too many amateurs on the road.
I'm sure the CTN shin-kicking guard will get right on it.

Cars can be replaced. I'm glad that you and the lovely Mrs. DD are okay.

What a piece of shiite!
What the Hell was he thinking?
Was he late to pick up Karl Hess for a ride home?
Was he thinking that a mild mechanical adjustment to his Acura might give it more of a sense of 'character'? Maybe he wanted to share this 'character'.
New paint job on his ride and they put too much on it. He just needed to thin it down a bit.
Was he born an asshole or did he work on it all his life?
Seriously...
Has he been taken into custody yet?
Was it a stolen car? Many that run off in this fashion are in a stolen vehicle.
No excuses. Fu&# him. F@*k him hard!
Glad y'all are safe.

The important thing is that you and Mrs. DD weren't hurt.

Are body shops required to report body damage they're repairing to the police?
My best educated guess is that your assailant had been drinking, and probably has a record of DWI, or has no license. That's why he or she didn't stop after the collision.

Update. Police report taken last evening about 1130 PM to be filed in 1-2 business days. Officer was delayed in getting there and very apologetic and very nice and understanding. Report goes to all the body shops in the area to report a dark grey Acura being driven by a dirtball who comes in for repairs. No personal injuries and looks like the L front quarter panel will need to be replaced and the front bumper painted and probably some small plastic wheel well pieces. I'd guess about $1500 worth of damages. Headlight apparatus intact. No wheel or tire damage and the car is driveable with no funny sounds. We, of course, are thankful it was not worse and that we are safe. We got hit about 22 years ago down in Selma (no relative of Ozzie's
![Rolling eyes 8-|](./images/smilies/29.gif)
) and were driven up over the curb, took out a speed limit sign and the car was totaled, coming to rest about 10 yards from a row of gas pumps. Thanks for all your posts.

This one took the Lavabes by surprise, as ILJ was talking with Mrs. DD last night before the incident. Glad you're okay, but hope the repairs can take place ASAP.
