Job vibes for Mr. Lawgrad, and pointy-toed shin kicks

Post by lawgrad91 » December 7th, 2010, 5:06 pm

Bruce and I have been off the last couple of days, burning use or lose vacation time. He called his sales manager at Infiniti this morning and discovered that the sales manager had been fired. "Napoleon," the general manager, was mad over something the sales guy and B had done and he had signed off on TWICE, and instead of having a rational discussion (like even MY pointy-headed boss would do), he fired Jack. So B and I trudged over this morning, and Napoleon told B he was fired, too, then said he would let him know tomorrow. B called over later (not a smart move on his part) and Napoleon told him to come get his stuff.

For the past two years B has won Salesperson of the Year, and was salesperson of the month 10 months this year, and yet Napoleon got all mad over something he himself had authorized.

So, anyway, job vibes for B, please. He was hoping to quit sales in June and get a full-time Methodist church charge, but six months without a job would not be a good situation, and insurance on a man who has had open-heart surgery can't be cheap. (I'm guessing once his COBRA runs out I can put him on my plan at work, but that isn't cheap, either.) Most of the Christmas is bought, and financially we can weather the storm, but it's never a good time for something like this to happen.

And if you feel it in your hearts, pointy-toed shin kicks to Napoleon. I am beyond loathing for this man at the moment. If he were on fire, I would not piss on him.

Thanks. Love you guys. :ymhug:

Prayers and vibes headed your way. There's never a good time for something like this to happen. I do think of that old adage about one door closing and another opening because I've actually experienced it. There may be some pastoral changes which come before June.

That is just un-freaking-believable.

Sorry to hear this. Too many jerks in the world. Does B have to do cobra before your insurance? If not, you might compare to see if there is any difference in the cost. Does the State insurance cost go up for someone with a health issue? I've never heard this. Insurance has changed a lot since I worked with it at Duke. If this were me, I would ask questions. Best of luck to you & B plus many vibes. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

The insurance won't go up, but I'm not sure if I'm eligible for a window to get him in on insurance, or if I have to wait until the new fiscal year in July.

Well vibes to you and Bruce for sure, but have him check with the dealerships down the street. Surely for someone will all the success he's had at Infiniti, the Mercedes, BMW, or Lexus dealerships might be interested in his services. Talented salespeople are always in demand, regardless of the market. And he doesn't have to tell them he wants to be doing something else next June when he interviews, even if that something else is church related. The dealership would get a talented and productive salesman from day one for however long he works there, not something they'd get if they were hiring a "rookie".

This makes me so damned mad. I really wish Bruce would document everything you have summarized and send it to Napoleon's boss, and that person's boss etc, all the way to the top. This is inexcusable and in no way should Napoleon-prick not be accountable for what he has done.

Screw pointy toe shin kicks. Kick the bastard in the balls if he has any! What a shit head.

Yeah, I'm with Ozzie and DukePA. I'll even put on my pointy-toed shoes and stiletto heels and add a toe stomp as well! Best of luck to B in finding something soon. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Have you called B's District Superintendent yet? Let the D.S. know that B is available to serve an appointment NOW. There are always mid-year moves within the UMC.

Also, after a week, check in with the Employment Security Commission.

And what DukePA said and what Ozzie said.

Pointy-toed shin kicks to Napoleon.

(((HUGS))) to you and B.

They aren't the only store in town. Like Ozzie said, someone with his record should be able to hit the ground running somewhere else right away. From my personal experience in sales, it was refreshing to get away from the 'corporate dealerships'. I had an unpleasant parting of the ways from one and was delighted with the difference when I got away. Someone once said, "It was like a whole covey of quail flew out of my ass!"

My move away was also a boost to my own personal sales achievements. I can't say why. I don't have a clue as to why. It just was. Maybe it was because that I felt a little less pressured.

One of the best salesmen I ever knew, used to change back and forth every 2 or 3 years between two stores. His customers did not care. They sought him out at both places, even coming into one and leaving, to find him at the other. These two stores were next door to one another in Greensboro. One no longer exists.

I don't know Napoleon but I am quite familiar with shitheads just like him. He can break his heart wanting to kiss my ass. Fuckwad. He'll never change. This sounds like it could be a blessing in disguise.

Vibes for B. :wizard: Stay positive. :9f:

I've long since stopped buying pointy-toed heels, but I still swing a mean baseball bat. Lemme at Napoleon! Ozzie's advice sounds most logical. Mr. Lawgrad with his experience and record should be in demand. Good luck vibes on their way!!!!!
