To donate the hydrocodone to Hospice? Oh damn. That's kind of funny and sad at the same time. Not surprising though.

Why in the hell can't we just regulate Hydrocodone and some narcotics like we do Sudafed? I mean really. Isn't alcohol like one of the worst drugs ever? People do the craziest shit on alcohol yet you can buy it as easy as you can a candy bar. And not only is it addictive, you can DIE from withdrawal. Not so much with narcotics. You can go through hell but my understanding is that for the most part (yes, there are exceptions), you can't DIE from narcotic withdrawal.

Why can't it work this way: Once you are of age, you are allowed to purchase narcotics without prescription but only so much each month. You sign for it. If you get busted for trying to purchase them outside of the process, like Sudafed, you not only get arrested but you're "privilege" of being able to purchase them is permanently revoked. What would be wrong with this? If you have legitimate pain (knee, back, etc.), you should have access to some amount of narcotics if you prove you can use them properly and not abuse them. If the answer to this is, "Because people might die due to abuse," or "Some people just can't handle it and would become addicted," well then under that same line of thinking, shouldn't alcohol be made illegal (or only available through prescription)?
