We got most of the spare-room-to-become-a-nursery painted today. Ow, my back hurts (did all the baseboards and most of the edges.) Mr. DA got next to the ceiling, and handled the roller work.
Anyone have any tips on how to handle an interior corner where we're painting one wall a darker color, and the other lighter?

Put up painter's tape, then do it really carefully? Put up baby type stensils? Put up painter's tape, then leave the borders white, like a cool, boxy image?DevilAlumna wrote:We got most of the spare-room-to-become-a-nursery painted today. I didn't notice the small print disclaimer at the bottom of your post until I was going to put up a good natured correction. Never mind... ;)DevilAlumna wrote:By the way, I'd like to introduce the newest member of the DA household -- "Reddick!"*

Bjorn's idea of tape is good. The trick, if using a latex paint, is gonna come in at the time you remove the tape. If you paint across the edge of the tape then you going to have a solid layer of latex rubber across from the wallboard onto the tape. Before removing the tape, I suggest a razor with a new edge, run it lightly across the edge of the tape before pulling it off. Otherwise, some paint may want to pull away from the wall along with the tape. 3M makes a good painter's tape. It's even in the proper, manly shade of blue.DevilAlumna wrote:

Re: LTE 2.0
Just home from the Drew Brees Invitational. The Panthers really, really suck. As a Saints fan, I'm not crushed by that fact, but as many of my friends are Panthers fans, I'd like to see them actually make a little noise.
Speaking of noise, I didn't yell. I can't yell. I had to sing tenor in church this morning. I sound like my Blue Devils put 55 up on someone yesterday, with the last coming in the final minute. Oh, yeah, they did.
Someone explain to me again why Jimmy Claussen was such a great pickup. A Claussen pickle would've been as successful, and a hell of a lot cheaper.

Re: LTE 2.0
Not in defense of your Saints, play was a little nasty in the beginning. The hit on Stewart looked a quite a bit 'purposeful', if you get my drift. That drift being that it wasn't intended to be just a tackle of the man with the ball. It was a forearm to the head, along with a helmet-to-helmet contact that had all the look of trying (and succeeding) to take the man out of the game from injury.
The Panthers finally discovered that Tony Pike was in uniform and didn't have to carry a clipboard all season. I'd really like to see what he could do with a starting assignment.

Capt, matters of the church made us late, so I can't dispute what you say. (It did work out great. We parked close by, and for free!) It would not surprise me for more than a few of the Saints defensive players to be a bit nasty.captmojo wrote:Not in defense of your Saints, play was a little nasty in the beginning. I wondered why Fox didn't put Tony Pike in earlier. I think as the third QB he can't come in before the fourth quarter unless the other two are injured. But Claussen was lousy. He locked on his receiver on every pass. There were plenty of times when his receivers were open, but he threw to a covered guy, behind a receiver, to a safety valve out of the backfield, etc.
If Claussen is a work in progress, he needs a lot of work cuz he hasn't made much progress.

Just in case no one looks at the Recipe Thread OR the True Brunchgate #2 Thread, here's the casserole recipe:
Cranberry Apple Casserole
8 cups peeled, chopped apples
*(4 medium to large granny smith)
1 bag fresh cranberries (3 cups)
4 tablespoons flour
1 - 1 1/4 cups sugar
Combine these ingredients - place in greased 9x13 dish
Topping
3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup melted butter or margarine
1 cup chopped pecan
1 cup oats (generous cup - I used regular, can use instant
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon - optional (I did not use)
Mix well and spoon over fruit mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes - uncovered

Uh-oh. I've just learned that my real estate paralegal's maternity leave starts this afternoon, rather than late January when the baby is due. She and the baby are going to be okay--it's bed rest for now, but boy are we scrambling around the office this afternoon to make sure every file is covered.
