Good morning from the wet house.
I just loathe having to spend the day working outside in the rain. The other days seem to make it worthwhile, though.

Harumph. Pointy-headed boss is back, and I have to miss the game tonight due to a church meeting. Why the **** would Methodists in NC have any church meeting the same night as a Duke game?
Can I watch the game late on GoDuke Inside Access video?

Re: The Official "Good Morning" Thread
Good morning.
Not really. One of my friends, a good Duke friend, David Strickland, died unexpectedly early this morning. He's been in the hospital for ~3 weeks with double pneumonia and related problems, but he was recovering and wasn't expected to die. I visited with him on Saturday afternoon in the hospital and he was in good spirits and "his normal self". His 2 nieces both had been cheerleaders at Duke 10 to 15 years ago, and David attended many Duke bball games with me over the years. He had been a scratch golfer and was the best putter I ever saw (Tiger included), although he gave up the game many years ago due to chronic back problems that left him on disability. He loved Duke basketball, Carnegie corned beef and Val's brisket. He was also a Boston Red Sox fan - nobody's perfect.
Condolences and vibes not necessary, but I did want to put up this announcement/eulogy.

Thanks for letting us know. I used to practice law with his brother. I'll send him a note.

If a man will cheat on his wife, it's not surprising that he'll cheat on his income taxes, is it?

Re: The Official "Good Morning" Thread
I think he did go with his brother, but I didn't see him there. Yes, his brother Mike, who played golf on scholarship at Duke, and is the father of the former Duke cheerleaders I mentioned, is a lawyer in Raleigh.CathyCA wrote:

And thanks for the kind words all. I know how y'all feel. More are not necessary. Really.
