This will be my first one. I've seen lots of blue-white games, but never on a Friday, and never with a brand new banner being unfurled!

We are in Section 1, assuming I ever get out of court on Friday afternoon. Right now it isn't looking too good, but we'll get there when we get there, and not a minute before.

I'm escaping from work at about 3-330 and getting to campus at about 5:30. Gotta have time for the kids to hit the face painting booth before we go in

Re: Duke sets Countdown to Craziness Schedule
Holy cow. Countdown to Craziness was amazing.
Here's a quick rundown of my day:
10:00 A.M. - Set up camp after my Chem 31L class.
12:00 P.M. - 30 minute lunch break
3:00 P.M. - 1 hour break for me
6:00 P.M. - A man wearing a "K Academy" shirt asks me and a few of my friends to come help him with something inside Cameron. We follow him inside and stand around the circle in the middle of the court. They wheel out a table covered with a black cloth and remove it to show all five trophies we won last year (including the National Championship trophy) as well as the rings for all of the players. The fifteen of us students that were chosen are then filmed for ESPN screaming and yelling and cheering for Duke. Woah. Crazy.
6:30 P.M. - Enter Cameron Indoor Stadium
6:32 P.M. - Directed to my seat by a LM. It only happens to be the very middle part of the first row. Group 7 got just as good seats as Group 1 (the other "crazie-talkers" who happened to be sitting/standing right beside me).
6:50 P.M. - Who woulda thunk, I'm chosen out of the front row to compete in the Knockout contest in front of a few thousand people. Ahhh! I'm terrible at basketball. Somehow I manage to place third out of seven or eight... If I had only gotten second I would have won a piece of the national championship floor signed! Argh! Still freakin' awesome to play in front of so many people.
6:50 P.M. on - Begin Countdown to Craziness and my first Duke Basketball experience. Woah. What a great day.

Most people say that is it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character.

Re: Duke sets Countdown to Craziness Schedule
I got chills a couple of times. I was so happy to be in Cameron again for the start of another season. What fun to see a preview of what a fun season it should be! Nolan said Kyrie was hard to guard - I see why. Now all I have to do is watch the videos again on Duke Blue Planet so I can hear what they're saying.devildeac wrote:I got chills seeing the banner uncovered.

Let's get the season started, indeed!

This was GREAT that you got this experience! I'm happy for you to have it, whether you think you are terrible at basketball or not. I'm only sorry that you didn't win, too. But, I am glad they picked one deserving of participation. Next play.Rolvix wrote:Holy cow. Countdown to Craziness was amazing.
