I know it's out of focus, but this is one of my favorite action shots. It's Katie with my mother's Yoda light saber:

How far away was the subject?bjornolf wrote:And how do I solve the problem of the flash when the subject is too far away for the flash to help much (grandparent hug shot)?
Although I usually use the dedicated flash on my camera, I also have a separate flash that I mount on my camera. That would be the obvious solution, right?

Finally uploaded my Labor Day pics. My bro-in-law and I staked out hummingbirds in my parents' front yard. Hard as heck to catch those little suckers.

Such a cool picture! The look on Katie's face is classic. I like how the light saber is blurred. It shows that she was moving the sword, and that's part of what makes the picture cool.bjornolf wrote:I know it's out of focus, but this is one of my favorite action shots. Oh! Thanks, thanks, thanks. Always love seeing pics of good old St Louis. Gosh we miss it. Wouldn't the Louis and Clark shot make a fun caption contest? This crowd would have crazy fun with that.ArkieDukie wrote:How I spent my day off. Touristy pics of St. Louis. http://www.flickr.com/photos/17449158@N ... 5063831124
