By the way... breakfast choices on the Delta flight from Seattle to Osaka: breakfast egg sandwich (eggs on buttered croissant-like bread) or cheese pizza. /:)

I kid you not!

Adam is in the kitchen and it smells like heaven. Tonight's menu: Irish Nachos made with homemade potato chips topped with cheese, jalapenos, salsa, etc. Main course will be grouper stuffed with blue crab and topped with shrimp swimming in bernaise sauce. This will be accompanied by dill/caper rice and fresh Brussel's sprouts.

I think I may be the only CTN member who likes Brussel's sprouts, gefilte fish and McDonald's cheeseburgers :ymblushing:

We went to Chili's because Lisa had a coupon.

I had some salt with a side of ribs. Side dish was salt with some french fries sprinkled on top.

Would soy sauce be a good enough replacement for the salt? ;)

Maybe low sodium soy sauce? Have you been able to find any over there?

I like Brussels sprouts. And McDonald's double cheeseburgers (and McDoubles - lose the 2nd slice of cheese and save $.29!) and of course Big Macs :D . I don't like, or eat, gefilte fish.

About as lucky at finding it as you are in finding low sodium salt at Chili's. :D

Lavabe, it sounds like the Madagascar diet, without the rice!

We are home. Dinner was at Del Frisco's in Charlotte. We split a ribeye, split a salad, split a side of mushrooms, split a side of sweet potatoes, and split a chocolate pudding cake with ice cream. (I had a glass of wine all to myself!)

Add a little vinegar to the soy sauce. It won't be as salty. (This may be a Korean thing - I don't remember if I learned it in Japan or Korea - but probably Korea.)

Hursey's BBQ. Not bad but Mrs. DD and I both like Smithfield's better.

I like the sprouts, can't stand the second, and long ago stopped eating the third.

So here was what was in my binto box at the reception to this conference:
Rice roll in nori (can't have the rice, can't have the nori)
Rice roll with sesame seeds (can't have the rice)
A piece of potato (semi cooked. semi-marinated)... (not allowed to eat complex starches... and besides... I don't eat uncooked potatoes)
A piece of marinated squash ( :ymtongue: )
9 strips of pickled cabbage (oh boy... something I could eat)
a mushroom top ( :ymtongue: )
Some round circular thing (trust me... NOT to be consumed)
An 8th of a navel orange
AND
a maraschino cherry.

:twitch:
At least I had two small cans of orange juice today.

Let's get PI!

Oh yeah!...Last night I had cow. Really good cow. The part from the breast area. It was properly raised, killed, butchered, packaged, purchased, seasoned, grilled and rested before consumption. I accompanied it with my own style of 'dirty rice' and broccoli, white bread :ymblushing: and BEER. Lots of BEER.

Forgot to mention that I also had three swigs of "SUNTORY" beer.
Would someone please tell me where I might find the YCCH, BEER thread?
It had some carbohydrates (BAD Lavabe), but maybe in the same amount as a Falstaff or Genny Cream.
It was singularly the worst CAN O' BEER that I have had in 15 years.

So my yesterday in food can be summarized in two words: PIGEON FOOD!!

Angus burger on a whole wheat Arnold Select roll. Tossed salad.

It's time to raid the fridge, the freezer, the cabinets, the pantry, the dog treat container (which offers better stuff than what poor Lavabe is eating-jerky strips and dried duck breast, among other delights), and anyplace else that might have food.

Cooked up some stir fried pork with peppers, broccoli, carrots, etc.

Rice noodles.

Potstickers (http://budgetbytes.blogspot.com/2010/03 ... e-054.html)

And our friends who came over brought some ridiculously good coconut cupcakes.

I had roast beef, mashed potatoes, squash and green beans. It's my last solid meal for a long time.
