McDonald's burgers suck
Not really shocking, but now the proof is in print. In a recent Consumer Reports poll, McD's tanked. 5 Guys' ranked best. (I've never eaten there, nor seen one, but I've heard lots about them.)

I love Five Guys. Here are the ranks from their website. They had 28000 readers rate them on a scale of 1-10:CameronBornAndBred wrote:Not really shocking, but now the proof is in print. I personally agree that Wendy's burgers are the best of the "big boys". I generally agree with their list, though I would rate Five Guys higher than In-N-Out personally. And Fuddrucker's has gone to the birds. The last time I went there, I could SEE the filler in the burger. It's been a while since I've gone there because of that. Hopefully they've abandoned that practice. If they have, I'd rate them higher again. I've never eaten at Burgerville, Whataburger, or Back Yard Burger, but I've eaten at least once at each of the rest. I'd put Jack-In-The-Box under McDonald's if it was me.

I find it amusing that Hardee's and Carl's Jr. scored differently.

I was just thinking that! Maybe they slack up a bit to the west. I've had Krystal's in Asheville...now there was a truly crappy burger. If I voted, I would have put it at the bottom..with a sub 5 vote.DukeUsul wrote:I find it amusing that Hardee's and Carl's Jr. scored differently.

Next time you come to Raleigh, we'll visit Total Wine at North Hills and then walk around the corner and down about a block and eat at 5 Guys .CameronBornAndBred wrote:Not really shocking, but now the proof is in print. What does Frozen Custard have to do with a good burger?
Apparently much more than I thought.

I will be looking for a Five Guys for sure.
By the way, I HATE McDs. I would rather eat crackers than anything from them.

My office is in North Hills right over the AT&T joint by 5 guys. I have to limit myself or I'd clog all my arteries. They also give you enough fries for two or three people.devildeac wrote:Next time you come to Raleigh, we'll visit Total Wine at North Hills and then walk around the corner and down about a block and eat at 5 Guys .CameronBornAndBred wrote:Not really shocking, but now the proof is in print. We have Five Guys down here too and they are incredibly popular.Very Duke Blue wrote:I will be looking for a Five Guys for sure.

McDonald's. I will say that once or twice a year, I do indulge in a Bic Mac value meal. Don't really like McDonald's burgers, except for the Big Mac. I find it quite the tasty treat every blue moon.

I find Blue Moon to be much more of a taste treat than a big mac. I even have a BOGO coupon and can't get any takers for it. Wanna join me for lunch later this month?EarlJam wrote:We have Five Guys down here too and they are incredibly popular.Very Duke Blue wrote:I will be looking for a Five Guys for sure.

Seriously? Backyard Burgers ranked sixth?? And White Castle? I thought they were considered by most as the holy grail of burgers.bjornolf wrote:

Move over 5 Guys. The new kid in town is Only Burger. He operates out of his truck around campus and at the Farmers' Market on Saturdays right now. Soon to open a brick and mortar on Shannon Road. Outstanding!

BTW, the BOGO coupon is only good in Wake County at participating McDs. There is one less than 2 miles from my house.EarlJam wrote:hell yeah man.devildeac wrote:I find Blue Moon to be much more of a taste treat than a big mac. I'll be at a meeting from about 1230-630 PM on Friday. On Saturday, I think we have plans for food and various libations from about sunrise until sunset somewhere in Derm . Maybe a CTN lunch at 5 Guys on Sunday. Is there a 5 Guys in Derm?DukieInKansas wrote:My plane arrives at lunchtime on the 17th.
