Bluebutton, this is good news! I hope the gum ban alleviates the problem. :happy-bouncyblue: :happy-bouncyblue:

Easy button for this problem! Do be mindful about adding fiber to your diet. How much and how it's phased in can make a world of difference between a helpful change and heading back to the doctor.

Hrm. Doc did not mention this -- other than to keep beano on hand. Any recommendations? Should I call the doc back?

Man, what is it with this board and gut pain? Glad everything's okay. As long as you have Tilly vibes, you're fine. Her's are SUPER concentrated. ;)

Practice moderation and increase fiber gradually. Too much fiber taken in too quickly can cause abdominal cramping, for example. Also take a look at how much fiber you're already taking in so that you know where you are beginning the process. Compare what you are already eating to what is recommended. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/healthy-diet/NU00200

Note that there are two kinds of fiber.
Is the purpose of adding fiber simply to replace gum chewing with chewing crunchy foods? Maybe soluble fiber is what you need to look for. The mention of Beano makes me think your doctor was thinking of adding soluble fiber to your diet.

Is it to prevent constipation? Then add foods with more insoluble fiber, but do so gradually.

I'm wondering if all the gut pain is related to stress. Mine usually is.

Can I vibe myself when my gut starts acting up?? ;) ;)

Hey! Great news! Guess we made a real believer out of ya as far as our legendary vibes go! Vibes and chocolate usually take care most things. :D Guess we should give your doc a little of the credit as well however.

Keep us posted on your progress.

I swallowed a lot of gum seven years ago. I'm expecting a lot of elimination soon! :D :twitch:

Oh man, I remember that legend! If you swallow gum, it will stay in your stomach for 7 years.

Heck of a way to lose weight, Captain!
