You're a little bit closer to being an endowed professor. ;)

Good luck, colchar!colchar wrote:Aaarrrggghhh!!!
I hate job interviews. I really do. When in an interview I always feel like I did whenever I got called the to Principal's Office in high school (which happened a lot!). My interview isn't until 1pm tomorrow and I am already stressing out preparing for it. Fuck it, another half hour and that's it, I'll be going to bed. Hopefully my insomnia doesn't bother me tonight!

I am sort of the same way with job interviews. When I get "in there" and the process has started, I'm usually fine and feel like I do well. But the days, hours leading up to the interview, well, I'm a stressed out mess.
Here's hoping today went well and that good news is just around the corner.

Sounds very positive! Best wishes.colchar wrote:
Thanks for the vibes everyone.
The interview seemed to go well. At least I think it did. Kind of hard to tell. The girl from Human Resources seemed fine. The guy I would be working for, however, seemed bored out of his mind for the majority of the interview. In his defense, I think I was their 4th interview of the day and I know they had at least one scheduled after mine so I'm hoping he was just tired of sitting in that room (it was warm in there) and that he was bored with the whole process rather than with me in particular.
His boss (the Director of the department), however, was great and I think she was really impressed. At least that was the vibe I got from her. She actually skipped the last two questions on their sheets (I could see hers as she was sitting near me) and pulled out another set of questions. She then looked at the other two and said "I'm ready to progress to the next set of questions right now if the two of you are with me". The both agreed to do so. At the end of the interview, I asked them if this was a single interview process or a multiple interview process. When I asked that she laughed and said that the second set of questions she had pulled out was the second interview so they had actually given me two interviews in one today. While they might simply have been pressed for time (they'd like the person to start before the new school year does which happens the week after Labour Day) and that might have caused her to combine two interviews into one, I'd like to think that I had nailed the first portion of the interview so well that she was happy to not even bother with the last couple of questions and to skip right ahead to the second interview right there and then. Of course, I could be completely off base here but if I hadn't done reasonably well I doubt they would've even bothered with that second round of questions.
So, all in all, I think it went well but I can never really tell. Obviously, I hope it did go well as this position sounds really interesting and I think it could be a great opportunity for me. Now the waiting begins...
Can't say it any better than that!DukieInKansas wrote:Colchar,
Skipping to the 2nd set of interview questions sounds extremely positive to me. Sending vibes that you hear positive news in the very near future.
