Survivor: NFL edition

Post by Lavabe » August 10th, 2010, 5:42 pm

Jimmy Johnson, the NFL dude with the hair (not the NASCAR driver), is a contestant on the next season of Survivor.

He'll probably do very well and go far. Either that, or they'll toss his ass off with their first tribal council vote. Hard to tell without seeing how the team develops. He will, obviously, be on my, err, I mean the old team.

It should also be noted that there are three contestants from the state of north carolina, and two of them are/were carolina students. One, 24, played football (line backer) and one is a current med student, and I'm going to root for her to win (talk about a sign of the apocalypse :-o ) She lost her let at age 6 months and has a prosthetic leg and foot. She also participates in triathlons and is darn pretty. The third contestant is, in her words on today's news feature on her, an old hag. She lives on a farm in rural north carolina and says she is more physically fit than any young girl. I'm not rooting for her.

Jimmy won't be able to pull a Gary Hogeboom and go under the radar. That hair is too iconic.

Benry seems like a real douchebag already, and all I know of him is what he put in his profile.

Sadly, yes. I don't get it. Mr. Windsor watches it. I watched the first one and haven't seen second one of it since (DVRs are a wonderful thing).

I've never watched Survivor. If they would plan something that would do good in the world like building schools and digging wells in the Third World, I'd support it wholeheartedly, but I could give a sh*t (thanks, ol' Roy, for the quote) about who can hold a statue the longest.

Daniel Tosh (Tosh.0) had a good bit about this, he said only in America would we create a television show about "surviving" in some place where other people already live on a daily basis.

I've never watched a full season of Survivor.

Some shows I enjoy..but not the game show related ones. I like ones that educate me at least somewhat. My current favorites are American Pickers and Pawn Stars.

I like these too. I used to be a picker. Then I was a flea marketeer. Then I was a just a pecker. :twitch:

Not sure I think of it as standard reality TV fare. There is no contest involved, anyway.
