On Average, Where do you Keep Your Thermostat Set?
I'm talking this hot-arse summer only. What do you typically keep the thermostat set to? Do you allow yourself to get "very" comfortable, or do you "suffer" just a little bit in the name of cost savings?
Option four SHOULD read 78-79, not "78-89!"

I keep mine at 82...it's not actually 82 in here..but some rooms get colder than others.

73, and I leave my programmable thermostat on manual, not adjusting the temp up and down. A house has a helluva lot of thermal mass to heat or cool and running it all up and down makes no sense to this engineer.

The downstairs thermostat stays at 78. My upstairs thermostat stays at 78 during the day, but I turn it down to 72 at night.

74 during the summer. The house is cinder block and plaster, so she holds the temperature pretty well even in Florida. When school goes back in session we'll use the programmable during the day to let it warm up a little in the house (77 or so) when no one is home.

We never go above 70 on our thermostat. Sometimes we go in the 60s. I can't stand it hot and my wife can't breathe if it gets hot. This summer has sucked, as our AC hasn't been able to keep it below about 72.

I keep mine at 76 during the day and 77 at night. I like moving air so I use fans as well.

I keep it around 72-73 though it's rarely that cool or warm in our house.

I used to keep mine at 67, and still do at night in the winter, but it just got too expensive in the summer.devildeac wrote:I woulda bet the farm your indoor temp was gonna be 66.indoor66 wrote:I keep mine at 76 during the day and 77 at night. I like moving air so I use fans as well.

Re: On Average, Where do you Keep Your Thermostat Set?
Y'all are amazing. We keep it set to 78 in the day and 77 at night, I think. The programmable thermostat lets the temp vary by a degree or two.
What amazes me is I just told my husband to adjust the day time temp--when he's at work, but I'm at home--up a degree because I sometimes get _too cold_ during the day. I would be wearing a sweater if I visited y'all.
We just moved into this house a few months ago, so it'll be interesting to see what we do for winter. I tend to layer up and try to tough out the cold, but clearly my version of cold and y'all's is not even close.

Same as bluebutton. I'm comfortable at 74-75ish. But the other night MrsUsul whipped her snuggie out because that was too cold for her.
