But, I'm not sure ANYONE on this board, or any Duke board, wants to be a "Dean" of anything.
Couldn't I be Chairman of the Department or Provost or Chancellor? But Dean?

In academic circles, it makes perfect sense. In Duke circles, it sucks to be a Dean (bless his psychosocial deterioration which I suspect is Alzheimer's Disease. My patients call it Oldtimer's Disease. Others refer to it as CRS syndrome-see below)CameronBornAndBred wrote:..We'll have to think about that. Rocky Mountain IPA-Fort Collins Brewing
A trader with CB&B.
Very solid classic IPA with mostly piney/resin notes and a hint of citrus. Golden-amber color, 2 fingered head which lingers nicely and enough malty balance to offset the IBU of 80 which is a bit high for your standard IPA. The ABV is 6.4% so a good beverage to have with Tex Mex, curry or mildly peppery fare. And save room for a double bock for dessert . I have had a few other offerings from FCB and enjoy their stuff. My favorite is probably their Double Chocolate Stout, if I have the name and brewers paired correctly.

Sampler just delivered by my friendly office drug rep including SA Double Bock, Mojo Rising IPA, Otter Creek Raspberry Brown Ale and a Ballast Point IPA. Someone is gonna see the extra Mojo Rising and Otter Creek brews as twins of those were delivered ;) .

Pike IPA-Pike Brewing
Nothing fancy here. And that is meant to be a positive comment as it is a sold offering. Straight forward golden, mildly foamy herbalicious/piney hop nose and taste with a hint of toasted bread. IBU 60, ABV 6.3%. This was about 2/3 of a bomber that I finished last PM. I'd have this with mildly spicy appetizers or a main course of curry, jerk spiced grilled fare or sitting on the porch on a hot summer eve. This was a $4 bomber and CB&B will see one of these in his next order.

It was the Big Eye, not the Sculpin. I had to look it up. Now I understand why you asked.bluebeer wrote:which Ballast Point IPA? That will be one of next week's brews as I am on call this weekend and not sampling.

I don't really have anything to say about beer, I just want to have the last post in every single thread on the first page.
Guinness is awesome! Tetley's is too.
There, is that good enough for a beer themed thread?

Guinness and Tetley's represent two of the better draught to draught-can beers. Love em both.colchar wrote:I don't really have anything to say about beer, I just want to have the last post in every single thread on the first page.

Try a Young's Double Chocolate Stout. Better on draught but pretty darned good from a can, too.Miles wrote:Guinness and Tetley's represent two of the better draught to draught-can beers. Re: Ymm, Beer!
Beer folks--work and girlfriend have cut into my beer consumption of late, but, wanted to let you all know that I was able to snag four bottles of this: http://thefullpint.com/beer-news/avery- ... ged-series
It's Avery's Quinquepartite, the fifth in their barrel aged series and a beer they only made 97 cases of, only 60 of which are available to the public. I convinced a friend in Boulder to go there on Friday and buy the maximum purchase of 6 in exchange for giving her two of the bottles. Once I get my hands on my four, I'll taste one and post a review. The other three will be stored away (along with my bottles of Brabant and Depuceleuse) for future tastings.
