Scheyer injured
Jon got whacked in the face in the game on Tuesday, and suffered a laceration to his eyelid and I believe also a scratched cornea. I last heard that he was flying back to Chicago, so that worries me it might be kind of serious if he's not staying in Vegas; hopefully it's just to see his own doctor and he'll be coming back.
My friend Lara started a group get-well card for him; if anyone wants to sign it, send me a PM and I'll send you the link; she's trying to keep it semi-secret until she sends it to him on Saturday, so I don't want to post the link on the board, but all Duke fans are welcome to sign.

Re: Scheyer injured
I knew about the eyelid, but hadn't heard it affected his actual eye. I figured since he flew home though it must not be good. That sucks, vibes to him.

This doesn't sound good. A week and it's still too swollen to evaluate? Yikes.

Where did you read that? I guess if he has stitches in the eyelid..it would be pretty puffy..hopefully not infected.gadzooks wrote:This doesn't sound good. A week and it's still too swollen to evaluate? Yikes.

Re: Scheyer injured
Scheyer still healing from 'freak' eye injury
So glad to hear he's getting better; I was kind of worried after the previous report. Here's hoping it will continue to improve and he gets a shot at playing basketball again.

Jon Scheyer, an undrafted 6'5" combo guard who led the Duke Blue Devils to the 2010 NCAA National Championship, has accepted an invitation to attend training camp with the Los Angeles Clippers as reported by FanHouse late Wednesday afternoon.
The Clippers may be in need of a serviceable third point guard with the loss of veteran Steve Blake to their very close neighbors in the Los Angeles Lakers this off-season and Scheyer may help in filling that void.
