Sorry about the end of the season, Allen. It is good the kids are resilient.allen wrote:NDLL lost to Walkertown Little League, and thus we are finished until next year. All in all a great experience for the kids. Between the two tournaments (district and state) our all-stars compiled a record of 6 wins and 3 losses, nothing to sneeze at for a bunch of 11 year olds.
In addition to the games in Waynesville we took them to a bunch of waterfalls, to sliding rock, and a bunch of other "cool" mountain area stuff. The team that hosted the tournament were wonderful hosts and gave us lots of fun suggestions for things for the kids to do when we were not playing.
The kids were crushed after the loss that dropped us out of the tourney, but the great thing about 11 year olds is that by the next morning they were back to their "old selves", goofing off in the hotel pool, playing miniature golf, and basically having a great time. There is a lot to be learned from 11 year old resiliency.
By the way CathyCa - I will be shocked if Greenville is not the eventual winner of the tournament (to be determined on Thursday). They are an incredibly talented team.
Thanks to all for the support.
