As for the censorship, I rarely go over yonder. I go either because I'm really bored, I know there is an interesting topic due to something in the news, or someone posts a link about something. I have not logged in since April 2009, nor will I ever log in again. Buh-bye!
If that was the case, I think it would be far better to edit the post to remove the offending portion and say why, rather than just deleting it; a board I used to go to had a strong preference for not deleting posts except in cases of recurrent trolls and the like, and I agree with that policy. I think it's extremely disrespectful to the members to disappear posts, especially with no word of explanation--I don't have a problem with having rules, but I do have one with not telling people what they are (I know they've got a sticky of the posting rules, but you can't honestly expect everyone to memorize them, plus so many are a matter of interpretation). If you let people know when they've broken the rules, they're less likely to do it again, because the majority of the time they didn't do it intentionally. And it's not like the moderators don't have time to edit, since they have about a hundred over there. From what I undersatnd the value of DBR dropped dramatically in the year or so before it was sold to SB Nation, and it was sold for a fraction of what its value had been during its "heyday". By SB nation standards DBR is a very small fish in a very large pond. Y'know, you're exactly right. That would've been the right way to do it - unless you're lazy.
