Re: Hunter Ceiling Fans
I had a hunter fan for 12 years. I started hearing a small bearing noise. I called them. They asked for my model number. The style had been discontinued. They directed me to their web site and said to pick any fan I liked (from a certain category of fans that was similar to the one I had). I did so and called them back 10 minutes later. The fan arrived the next morning (sent via overnight) with a handwritten note of apology saying that their fans were supposed to last "forever" and that 12 years was well below their standards". All they asked was that I remove the small tab from the old one that had the serial number (it popped off with a screwdriver) and mail it to them.
I've never bought anything but Hunter since. On the other hand, I'd never buy a fan with either a remote (why?) or a light (I don't like overhead lighting) so what I buy is basic.

Wow! 12 years? Now that's quite a warranty.allen wrote:I had a hunter fan for 12 years. I started hearing a small bearing noise. I called them. They asked for my model number. [redacted] them and the horses they rode in on.
Re: Hunter Ceiling Fans
Some of their fans come with a life-time warranty. The Hunter rep on the phone told me that meant, and I remember his words, "as long as the fan exists upon this earth we will back it up". They don't offer that on all their fans, but on some models.

As to your new fan not blowing as cool a breeze as your other one - fans only circulate the air that is already there - they don't cool anything. If the other one feels cooler that is because the air in the other room is cooler to begin with.
