Max
Our grandson, Max, finished Duke Basketball Camp last week. He loved every minute. His teem, 12 and 13 years, did not lose a game!! We got to attend his games (until I had to leave for Richmond). He did great. They got to play 2 quarters each game. He scored 8 to 10 points each game we saw. He had a lot of rebounds. He played center. Max played great defense too. He was diving on the floor for loose balls. He had a couple of steels and quite a few assist.
Max's all star baseball team is going to the State tournament. GO MAX. GO TEAM. They are a great bunch of kids.

They lost yesterday, 12-8. Max was 3 for 3. Pitched 2 great inning, played on 1st the other innings, with no errors. Their couch switched pitchers every 2 innings, so not to use all of any one of them the allowed amount of innings they can pitch. They play again at 3:00.
Here's hoping they can win today.

Didn't work. They lost. Our guys just couldn't hit. Their pitcher was awesome. Max had a great game. No hits He played short stop most of the game. Caught a couple of flies, dove for a grounder, threw it to first, laying on the ground, which was caught for the out. He also caught a couple of grounders and made the outs. Most of the other kids also played well. We felt much better when we found out this team, West Roberson, went to the World Serious last rear and most of them returned this year. Kenansville has such a small pool of kids to pull from, only just over 9,000 children in the entire school system in Duplin County. I'm very proud of the Kenansville team.DukePA wrote:Go Max!!!!! The ball park in Cerra Gorta is awesome!!!! Its new this year. They have 2 fields that are state of the art. Golf course grass, very nice bleachers, concession stands, great parking and even had air condition bathrooms. There are only 240 people in the town. They all worked on getting this facility built. They were able to get some county money. The big things were the sponsors, not only from their county, but surrounding county businesses. It just goes to show you what can be done in a community when people will work together.
