Tilly, I am impressed. Good work.

Re: LTE 2.0
I'm not really sure it's going to make an impact except in the record books. Alabama went on probation, vacated some wins and then followed up with a National Championship. Nice slap on the wrist.YmoBeThere wrote:USC getting a two year post-season ban for football? Why am I not shocked?
If the NCAA wants to get serious about these violations, they'll enact 4-5 year suspensions but that would seriously hurt their bottom line too. It's a farce.

If they hurt USC's bottom line, won't that in turn hurt the PAC-10 and the NCAA's bottom line?Miles wrote:I'm not really sure it's going to make an impact except in the record books. Re: LTE 2.0
Exactly my point. That's why I think the penalties are so light, because the NCAA ultimately doesn't want to hurt the conference and itself. The big money comes from television contracts and bowl games. If you're put on probation, but still get national tv contracts and can still win a bowl game, what good was the "punishment"?TillyGalore wrote:If they hurt USC's bottom line, won't that in turn hurt the PAC-10 and the NCAA's bottom line?Miles wrote:I'm not really sure it's going to make an impact except in the record books. I thought you meant USC's bottom line, now I realize you were referring the NCAA's bottom line. Perhaps I should stop thinking as it's not helping me. ;) ;)Miles wrote:Exactly my point.
