But Seriously - Employment 2010

Post by EarlJam » May 17th, 2010, 3:31 pm

While I've made some significant strides in getting back to full-time employment (networking, connections, interviews, and eventually a part-time job), the goal of full-time work still eludes me. I am posting this with some trepidation because I don't like going "off mission" of site for personal reasons. But, as has been said here many times before, we are all community, this is like "Cheers" and I could sure use any assistance. If this offends or is out of line please accept my apology. I can't attach my resume but can offer it through LinkedIn (or other channel as it is a .PDF copy) for review and for passing along to anyone....and I mean ANYONE you know who is looking for any kind of help. I also offer freelancing and will have a site up by week's end dedicated to that.

I am working to build on LinkedIn and welcome any and all who are cool with it to join my network. My LinkedIn site address is: http://www.linkedin.com/in/danbooninatlanta

Please feel free to contact me!

Many thanks in advance,

-EarlJam

P.S. Also, thanks to all who responded to a similar post months back. It helped. I got leads and valuable information that all goes into the "blender." Thanks!

I posted a while back and it lead to a couple of leads but nothing permanent. For

Do you have "Moderator of an international website" on your resume?

(Thanks Colchar for making us an international website :D )

Lol, I should! Or I could list, "Published more than 1,100 times on an international Web site which boasts members from one of the world's most advanced medical and legal educational institutions!

Trust me, if you live anywhere in the US everyone else in the world considers you a Yank.

Nah, Yank refers to a nation of people while Hab merely refers to a hockey team and its fans.

I fully understand this perception, and it makes sense from their perspective. When I'm in Canada or anywhere outside the US, I'll live with the label and be respectful of their cultural respective. As I extend that courtesy, I also appreciate that any foreigners would do the same and recognize that the meaning of Yank changes relative to their geographical location and they company they keep.

Sitting from office in Charlotte, in this thread, in this forum, on this site I am most certainly not a Yank.

I recognize that the definition might change within the US but I'm typing from outside the US and to the rest of the world Yank=American. Someone might be from the South but, regardless of the state they are from, if they are American they are still a Yank just as someone who is Scots, or English, or Welsh, or Irish (from Northern Ireland) is a Brit. Heck, I'm Scots but I accept that, to the rest of the world, I am a Brit.
