Nancy Burgess
August West, did you see this story? I just saw on WRAL the news of the death of Nancy Burgess. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. She and her husband, Don, have been sitting in the same seats in front of us in Cameron for over thirty years.
And they never missed a game in Wallace Wade either....sat a few rows behind us there.
She was murdered along with her mother in Roanoke Rapids today. A neighbor robbed and stabbed both of them to death.
She was the sweetest, lovely lady. I can't believe this. It's horrible.
Love, Ima

Very sad news, I didn't know she was a ticket holder until this morning.

I saw this on wral.com and was shocked at the brutality those two women suffered. And for what, a couple of dollars. Senseless, absolutely senseless. Vibes to Nancy Burgess's family and friends.

Re: Nancy Burgess
I have known Nancy for many years, another member of the Durham Public Schools family. She served in a variety of roles and continued even when she could have stayed home. What a loss! She was such a kind person, so dedicated and hard working.
My thoughts and prayers are with her family. Her school family will need much support today as they all come to grips with the reality of her sudden departure from a close knit group.

I'm including a link to Nancy's obituary on the funeral home's web site since this information is not yet available via the local newspapers. http://www.howertonbryan.com/index.cfm (You may have to click on Obituaries in the menu on the left to pull it up to read.)
