TV bartender, whom would you pick?

Post by Lavabe » April 17th, 2010, 7:15 am

If you had to order a drink from a tv bartender, whom would you pick?

NOTE: Archie Bunker became owner/bartender in ARCHIE BUNKER'S PLACE, the spin-off of ALL IN THE FAMILY.

This one has me wavering. It's too tough to call. I'm figuring that Isaac might get my vote, because if I got the drink from him, I'd be on a cruise. On the other hand, MOE would mean I could finally do a beer review for DUFF beer. And if it was Coach, I could ask him about Albania. ;)

I went with Coach. Moe waters down his drinks.

When I saw the thread title, I thought, "Sam Malone," but I would also choose Woody or Coach.

I love Cheers! That show had the best theme song.

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.

Wouldn't you like to get away?

Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see our troubles are all the same,
You wanna be where everybody knows your name.

You wanna go where people know, people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows your name.
“The invention of basketball was not an accident. It was developed to meet a need. Those boys simply would not play 'Drop the Handkerchief.'”

Wow, flash back for me with the Love Boat, I used to watch that show all the time, but I too immediately thought of Cheers when I saw TV bartender!!!! Being a former baseball, I always liked Sam!!!!

This is weird for me...I've never really been a faithful watcher of any show featuring a bartender. I've watched a good bit of 'The Simpsons' and 'Family Guy' in my day, but neither has ever been appointment viewing for me (and I'm not sure there's a bartender in FG so much as there's just a bar).
I never watched Cheers or Frasier or Coach or any of the other shows with bartenders.
I am abstaining from this poll.

My first thought was Cheers, probably Coach, but the upon further review I chose Isaac - more fun stuff happens on The Love Boat! ;) ;) ;)

I went with Malone. Love the bar "Cheers" and while it would be fun watching Woody bumble around, Malone would have so many baseball stories and such to tell.

Did the Starship Enterprise have a bar?

I bet a starship would have a great view from its bar (I suppose this is in keeping with my feelings about growing up chez Jetsons). The bar should definitely be on the bridge somewhere, so as to provide patrons with a spectacular vista from the requisite picture window.

Oh yes. Picard's ship had one. Did Kirk's? I can't imagine a space cowboy like James Tiberius Kirk and crew members like Scotty managing without a bar on board. I bet getting fawpwobbled with Mr. Spock would just blow your mind. He'd probably get all crazy drunk and start neck pinching everyone. F*ckin' Vulcans.

Overheard at that bar: "Did you hear about the new bar on Telvov IV? Great drinks, but very little atmosphere."

Captain Kirk's original Enterprise did not have a bar. He was known to keep his own stash of Romulan Ale on occasion.

Picard's Enterprise was filled with a bunch of teetotallers. They all drank synthahol, although Guinan did keep some real stuff for those that requested it. (Like Scotty after they rescued him from the transporter buffer.)

We're all a bunch of Trekkies here!

CB&B - I'm disappointed you changed your signature and got rid of the picture. I actually told Kevin White about it yesterday, and now it's gone :(

I did not! That sig is my DBR signature, and I'm pretty sure it will be a long time before I change it. He's seen the photo, I included it with the letter I sent with his football print. :D
