I asked for pastrami :D . I tasted their corned beef when I was there and it did nothing for me.

I just couldn't remember which one you liked better as we usually talk about corned beef more than pastrami. So it is requested, so it shall be. :D

Bread or no bread?

Yes.

Whichever way gets you more meat/$ :D The remnants of their largest sammy made it all the way to my NY area hotel, but was gone 20 minutes later!

I must say, this is an interesting thread hijack. We went from Cathy's winning essay to pastrami. This is Crazietalk!

They are tangentially related. A couple of us have requested a sammich or two from the Carnegie when she takes her Talbot's trip. I am going to a meeting in DC in a couple weeks and hope to visit 8-X and/or bjornolf in NOVA. They live near the Chutzpah deli who also has large deli sammiches and I plan to pack some in a cooler for a safe journey back to NC.

Yea, I know it's a stretch but at least there was no mention of candy in any of my posts in this thread. I think...

Okay, ladies, here's your opportunity to win a trip to New York, courtesy of Talbots!

I received my $500 gift card from Talbots this week. Tilly told me about the new Talbots Outlet in Smithfield, so I'm heading over there today to check it out, and to begin spending my gift card.

Make sure you get a slice of pizza or a cheese steak from Sami's while you're in the area. They are only a mile or two away from the outlet. See if you can get some cheep gas, too. I'd suggest a visit with Ozzie but he's probably out on the golf course earning reputation points. /:)

Gas wasn't any cheaper in Smithfield today than it is in Greenville. And it wasn't like I had burned much gas on my way over there.

Where is Sami's?

We didn't see Ozzie today. He had posted that he was going to be playing golf during the time we were shopping.

I hated that Talbots. It is an outlet Talbots only, and not a real Talbots clearance store. In other words, they don't carry the lines that are created for the catalog and retail stores. They carry a cheaper version of the clothes that are manufactured exclusively for the outlet stores. I hated those clothes.

Mom and I drove back over to Greenville and shopped at the Talbots retail store across the street from my office. We both got some very cute clothes.

Bummer. Sounds like the regularly store can't be beat. I found a few things at the outlet in Charlotte. Nothing dressy, which I wasn't looking for.

Sami's is the right hand side of the C-store at the Mobil station in front of J R Cigar outlet store, the southeast side of the intersection (I-95 exit 97, US 70).

I played (walked) 11 holes - the front 9 and then 10 and 18. I was done playing about 11, cooled off in the clubhouse AC for 30 minutes drinking a PowerAde, then went to the pool for an hour. Got home about 1:30 and showered. Been lazy ever since!

Too bad the Talbots store sucked. Would loved to have seen you today.

Oh, gas is back down to $2.49 today for regular, didn't notice the premium but it should have been in the low $2.70s.

I walked by the Carnegie Deli this morning and took a few pictures. I didn't go in and order anything.

We were too full from our brunch at the Essex House.

No. At the outlet sales, I could only begin to spend that gift card. When Talbots sends something to its clearance outlet, the garment can sometimes sell for 90% off of its retail price.

But the outlet in Smithfield wasn't a clearance outlet. It was an outlet for a lower quality tier of clothes manufactured only for that outlet. I hated that store and those clothes.
