Idle and Pointless 'What if...'
What if...Henderson and Williams stayed....are we still cutting them down in Indy?

No. We needed our bigs to win, and Brian would never have developed the way he did, and the Plumlees wouldn't have either. My guess is we would have seen more of Miles than either of the other 2. We would have relied on perimeter shooting, our rebounding would have been down, and we would have had the same weaknesses that had cost us in the past.windsor wrote:What if...Henderson and Williams stayed....are we still cutting them down in Indy?

I love our chances for next year, we are still going to be a big team, and K will utilize what they all learned this year and improve on it.
G leaving was a blessing in disguise. If Elliot had stayed, I think we might still be cutting down the nets, K would have been rotating him and Nolan more, but it wouldn't have changed our interior.

What if Marty and Taylor had stayed...
What if Josh McRoberts were still around...

I thought it was interesting that JJ, Henderson, Dahntay, Dunleavy, and Battier were there last night, but no mention of McBobs. I wonder how welcome he feels at past player gatherings. I wonder if would even go to one.Lavabe wrote:What if Marty and Taylor had stayed...

I remember reading something about McRoberts being there on Saturday night. Who knows? Maybe he likes being around winners.CameronBornAndBred wrote:I thought it was interesting that JJ, Henderson, Dahntay, Dunleavy, and Battier were there last night, but no mention of McBobs. See my brief post on another thread. I am quite happy with our 09-10 season. Not sure G woulda made it any better.

Don't mean to go negative here, but next to Greg Newton, McBob is my least favorite Devil in decades. Seemed to have a "ME" mentality and only interested in making it to the NBA. He was good with a strong supporting cast; but as a leader who had to create his own shots, he proved, well, no comment. It also seemed the team chemistry improved dramatically when he left. Not hating on Josh at all. I'm sure he's a great kid and I wish him the best; but as a Duke player, he's pretty far down my list.CameronBornAndBred wrote:I thought it was interesting that JJ, Henderson, Dahntay, Dunleavy, and Battier were there last night, but no mention of McBobs. I'm so happy for the kids who stayed, and who represented DUKE so well throughout the season and post-season.
