First I got a letter from the government telling me that I was going to get a Census. Then I got my Census, filled it out and mailed it in. Today I got my 3rd piece of mail regarding the Census.

And the Census is a TV sponsor for the NCAA Tournament.

I can't imagine how much $$$$ the Census has spent in publicity.

Since they are required by law to visit every person who fails to respond IN PERSON, imagine how much money each additional reply by mail they get. I imagine some flunky government contractor like me did a cost-benefit analysis to determine how much more effective it would be to spend a buck on a notecard. In fact, I heard somewhere that the advance letter they sent out is expected to increase response by as much as 15%.

Yesterday, I saw Dr. Toth for my shoulder. i met her resident doctor, who's father was a classmate of Coach K at West Point and good friend. The resident grew up a huge Duke fan. He is a Duke undergrad alumni. He is so happy to be back at Duke. His plan is to go into sports medicine. Nice guy.

I had a great time in Wilmington last night. i got to see our son and his girlfriend, our grandson and his girlfriend. The only downside was not getting to watch our Lady Devils play. TVs were on but it stayed on espn 2. You know what that means. Oh well, the food was good. We were @ Hells Kitchen. Great bar.
