Re: Tourney Games Not Involving Duke
I'm so happy that 4-6 of the ACC teams advanced, while only 4-8 of the Big East did. So, we have the same number of teams left. I know there's not much chance of this, but I'd love to see similar results this weekend, say 3 ACC teams left and only 2 Big East. Some of the "experts" are saying that St. Mary's has a good shot of taking out Nova, which is a start. Problem is, I don't see a likely scenario where Wake beats Kentucky. I think GT has at least a puncher's chance against OSU, and similarly Maryland against Michigan St., but that doesn't speak well of our chances of seeing both teams advance. We'll see, though. I guess anybody can beat anybody on a given day.
And whoa, whoa, whoa, on the Boykin comments. Remember that K recruited him. He wasn't a bad player. He looks like he's improved quite a bit since then. That's some pretty bad woofin' you're doing there. They took Louisville apart. That score was NOT indicative. I'm worried about them. Admittedly, our defensive intensity should be much higher than Louisville's was last night, limiting a lot of those wide open shots Cal had against them. However, they were drilling those shots. We have to be ready. This isn't gonna be a cakewalk. I think we'll win, but I think this is gonna be a lot closer than some people think.
I always liked Boykin, and I think he left for good reasons. I hope he has a career game, but Duke still wins. I hope he has a nice handshake with K after the game, maybe even a hug. But I'm just sentimental.

It looks like Duke's road to the Final Four just got a little bit easier.
Also, I think this is my first ever post on this board. Strange that it took me so long.

What a game Northern Iowa is playing! They are tough. Kansas is having to work hard to keep the point spread from getting out of hand.
Perhaps their coach is a rising star among young coaches.

It's one thing to nap through an NIT game, but you've got to plan your naps better than that during the Big Boys' Tournament.EarlJam wrote:Oh wow. I took a nap and am just now tuning into this.

This was probably the most important game of the big dance so far.
