Did anyone else see the end of the UConn-Northeastern game? It appeared to me that the refs did everything they could to help UConn at the end of the game. Every single out-of-bounds went to UConn, and fouls on potential game-winning shots were ignored. Did anyone else notice this, or am I imagining things?

W&M made a couple too many turnovers down the stretch to pull it out against the Heels.

I would really like to see how this game would've turned out if the teams had been properly seeded (with the holes playing at W&M) and the holes hadn't hand-picked the refs. I mean, c'mon. Karl Hess? Really?

A thought to ponder: the articles in the press have gone on and on about how great the NIT field is since it contains UConn and unc. Are the powers-that-be stacking the deck so that their favorite "traditionally strong programs" wil be in the championship game in order to boost TV ratings?

I don't know, devild***, but they could've been. Lavabe accused me of being you in Section 21, since I was commenting on all the fouls that were being ignored by Karl Hess and his good buddies.

Way to go, Pack! Winning at USF - way to go! I really missed El Sid's red jacket tonight. Hope it makes a reappearance.

Kudos on the inbounds play that got the game-winning basket. If El Sid designed that play he is an evil genius. We were debating in Section 21 whether or not the play was intended to go down that way. Survey question: was State lucky to score on a busted play, or did the play go down exactly as planned?

The refs for UConn were the same refs Duke had against Miami in the ACC tournament. Okay, so I can't prove that, but the calls sho' nuff reminded me of the incompetent refs who tried to give the game to Miami. (And when I watched the tape again last night, the calls were just as bad as when we saw them in person.)

As for the tarholes playing in Carbuncle...gee, what a privilege! A "strong" NIT? Isn't that an oxymoron? Am I the only person in the universe who thinks the tarholes demise is a sports writer's call to pump the team UP? After all, the NC "journalists" come from Crappy Hell's trade school.

I think it was designed like that, AND a break down on USF's defense. And while that was the game winner, the game wasn't won until the Pack played some great D of their own. Good to see them moving on.
