I'll stick to fine, hand-crafted ales. The names are easier to remember and spell.DukeUsul wrote:Glenmorangie Quinta Rubandevildeac wrote:What kind?DukeUsul wrote:I'm drinking Scotch.

Re: LTE 2.0
That's really cool, Tilly. My wife and I met online too. She was snowed in and sick of the bar scene and tried Match.com's free week when I was bored between projects at work and decided to try it at the same time back in December of 1997. She was going through an ugly divorce with her abusive ex, and I was recovering from an ugly breakup with my girlfriend of 4+ years (she cheated on me with a frat guy at MIT while I was at Duke, then didn't bother to tell me when we met over spring break, then dumped me over the phone when I got back to Duke). Anyway, the last day of my free week was the second day of her free week. I was 5 miles inside the 150 mile radius she listed (living in the Shenandoah Valley, you have to have a bigger radius to find eligible guys) only because I list my work town on a whim, which is 30 miles closer than my home address. I was a month inside her age range (I'm 11 months younger, and her ex was much younger than she, and she'd sworn off younger guys, but changed it from only one year old than she and up to one year younger and up at the last minute). She only contacted me (because of the distance) because I mentioned in my profile (nobody had pictures back then) that I was both a football player and an engineer. She's an engineer and she was really into football players. I guess it was fate. ;) Too many coincidences to be just chance for my blood. Lucky me, eh?TillyGalore wrote:yup we did.
5 years ago this april 6.
We didn't tell people how we met for a long time, since there was kind of a stigma on it back then. We'd laugh about it. We started owning up to it around 2001. However, my wife went to a bridal shower at work in 2008 and discovered that about 75% of the attendees had met their significant others through one of the online services. Crazy, huh?
