Re: Scheyer stats
I would LOVE to see him do it as much as anybody. I just don't see it happening. Honestly, I don't see us having eight more games. I'd be happy with six or seven more. At seven more, he'd need 5 per game, and his assists have been dropping off a lot lately. He had an insane assist to turnover ratio early in the season, something like 7-1. Since then, it's dropped a LOT in ACC season. Well, it's not that he has SO many more turnovers (though that has gone up a little), it's more that he has so many FEWER assists. Early in the season, he was getting 5, even 6 or 7 assists a game. He topped out at 11 against UPenn! That's crazy! He averaged about 6.5 assists per game before the ACC season started. It carried through the beginning of ACC season, when he averaged just under 5 a game in the first 5 games of the ACC season, which included one against Iowa St. Through most of the ACC season, though, he's been averaging just over 4 a game, and that includes a 7 assist performance against the hapless Tarheels on senior night and a 7 assist performance early on against Georgia Tech. That's fine, don't get me wrong. He's still playing great. His points per game are way up. It just makes it less likely that he makes it to 200.

He's so tired. He's so wonderful, but he's so tired. His father's face during the last game reflected his concern. I love this guy. He's given it everything he's got. He's the quintessential Blue Devil.
Bless his heart. Really, bless his heart.

Re: Scheyer stats
Assuming we make it to the Finals, that's four more games. Jon's 25 assists short, so he'd need 6.25 assists per game from here on out to make it. Come on Jon, you can do it!

If he gets to 200, retire the jersey?
2014, 2011, and 2009 Lemur Loving CTN NASCAR Champ. No lasers were used to win these titles.

He's still gotta win a title to sniff jersey retirement.Lavabe wrote:If he gets to 200, retire the jersey?
I still don't think we're the favorites, but in my estimation, our odds have roughly doubled in the past seven days.
Here's to redoubling them this weekend.

Re: Scheyer stats
Even if we win the title, the shirt don't go up. He's gotta have a NPOY or NDPOY award and/or some sort of all-time Duke and/or NCAA record, too.wilson wrote:He's still gotta win a title to sniff jersey retirement.Lavabe wrote:If he gets to 200, retire the jersey?
